1D - Developing The Next Top Advisor Instructors: Transforming the Classroom One Seminar At a Time
Abstract
This presentation will highlight how academic advisors can create more savvy students through engaging them in seminar courses focused on their student development. Advisors from the Fox School of Business at Temple University designed a course that was created to assist freshmen, sophomores, and transfers through their undergraduate experiences. Through the completion of these one-credit courses, students were given the tools to expose themselves to academic departments and faculty, career and professional development centers, experiential learning opportunities, and involvement activities both on and off campus. Join the conversation and learn how you can create your own seminar courses to actively engage your advisors in a unique learning experience that will transform the “student experience”. |
